I ate there on my one and only evening in Zagreb. The waiter was really nice, trying to make me feel at ease. I took the business menu which was zucchini soup, grilled meat and vegetables, and apple strudel. The food was cheap (only 15€!) and really good.

I came to Zagreb for a working week and to see a musical genius. I was too busy to do any research beforehand and I have always had luck with the NYT 36 hours series. The Zagreb one was nearly 10 years old and had BF on it. Not much has changed from its kitschy decor to its freaking amazing food. I dined alone as usual as I'm a lot even for me. I had the veal stew on wide noodles and it was rich and nostalgic reminding me of my great aunt's stews and one of the best meals I had with my third ex-wife. It tasted of roasted bones, collagen for my sagging skin and aching joints. Wouldn't surprise me if it had been left for days on the stove so all the flavors could meld together perfectly. Just a cappuccino to start and a basket of bread and grated Romano to go with and I had plenty to take with me for later. I had seen an almond cake flavored with orange and chocolate so I had no interest in filling up completely. The orange almond cake had a thick cap of dark chocolate and fresh whipped cream dolloped on each side of the slice. This may well be the best desert I have ever had in my nearly 60 years. Go for the kitsch, go again and again for the food.

We visited this charming spot for a mid-afternoon meal and were immediately struck by its inviting atmosphere. The décor strikes a perfect balance between stylish and cosy, with thoughtful touches that make the space feel both modern and welcoming. Comfortable seating and generously spaced tables created a relaxed environment, ideal for conversation without feeling crowded. While the menu isn’t extensive, it’s clearly been curated with care. Each dish sounded appealing, and there were thoughtful vegetarian options that didn’t feel like an afterthought. We appreciated the focus on quality over quantity, and it certainly paid off. Service was warm and attentive without being overbearing. Our server was friendly, efficient, and had our food and drinks out in good time. The portions were generous and satisfying—enough to feel you’ve had a proper meal without being overwhelming. All in all, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience, and we wouldn’t hesitate to return.

I arrived in Zagreb late in the evening, Fotic near my hotel was open, It was a perfect selection for the end of a long days travel. The atmosphere, chill with good vibes music and the host there is impeccable as if he has a degree in his art. The chef 👩‍🍳 must also be top of her class as the food is delicious. So good that somehow I found room to enjoy dessert 🍨.

The food and service here was amazing. We had chicken pate with bread and the Pumpkin pastry with sour cream to start. Big portions and super tasty. For mains we had Goulash with creamy mash potatoes and Seabass fillet with vegetables. All food was cooked and served beautifully. Sadly we didn't have room in our bellies for dessert as the food we were served was too delicious to leave. Highly recommend, with two beers and all food coming in at under £50, I feel it was good value

Very nice place. Food strong, good, no joke. Service even better – fast, respectful, professional people. You sit, you relax, they take care. This is how restaurant must be. I happy, I return again.
